How it started
Black Wood Studio grew out of a converted barn on the Hertfordshire-Essex border. What began as a personal photography project in 2017 gradually attracted local businesses who liked the look of the work hanging on the walls.
By 2019 the barn had proper lighting rigs, a meeting table, and a growing roster of clients who wanted more than just photographs. They wanted brands that felt as considered as the images we were creating.
Today the studio handles everything from logo design to campaign shoots, always with the same approach: strip things back, find the mood, and build from there.
